Sharing is caring and this dessert is rich, decadent and hits all the bells and whistles of a snickers bar without all the sugar and processed ingredients. We only use clean ingredients in this recipe and you won’t believe that there is nothing to feel guilty about while enjoying these gooey treats. Draw a nice hot bubble bath and whip up a batch of these babies to enjoy while your troubles melt away.

For the brownie base:

  • ½ cup peanut butter or other nut butter
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
  • 2-3 tbsp almond milk or another other kind of milk
  • 2 tbsp of cacao powder
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ⅓ tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of himalayan salt

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix with a spatula or wooden spoon until smooth. Spread evenly on a lined 9×13 or 8×8 pan and bake for about 10-15 minutes until center is set. Do not over bake. Let cool completely. Then make the nougat.

For the nougat:

  • 1/2 cup creamy almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon coconut flour

In a small bowl, combine the ingredients and mix until smooth. Drop teaspoon-fulls of the nougat evenly on the cooled brownie base.

For the caramel filling:

  • 12 soft Medjool dates, pitted (about 3/4 cup packed)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • scant 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil , melted

Combine all ingredients into a food processor or high power blender and blend until completely smooth.

Spread caramel sauce over the nougat.  Sprinkle with ¼ cup of chopped peanuts or other preferred nut. You can even leave them out all together.

For the dark chocolate topping:

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Melt the two ingredients over low heat in a small saucepan. Stirl while melting to prevent clumping or sticking. Once completely melted continue to stir until smooth. Pour chocolate over the caramel and spread evenly with a spatula. Cover pan with aluminum foil and place pan in freezer for about a half hour to set. Cut into squares and enjoy!
