With summer fading into fall, we wanted to share a few recipes from Wake Foot Sanctuary staff that are keeping us nourished, but also enjoying a nod to fleeting summer days!
Kelsey P’s , Feel Good smoothie
– Frozen fruit blend of mango & strawberries for folate and immunity.
– Cup of chopped carrots -for hormone/liver support
– Splash of beet juice for hormone support
– scoop of vanilla protein powder
-1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt for gut health
– 1 tsp of chia seeds for fiber
Combine in a blender, adjust ingredients for taste and enjoy it with a 30 minute walk in the sun!
Haley S’s Sweet Summer Treat!
Every summer, my daughter and I make homemade popsicles to beat the summer heat. We use fresh, in season fruits like strawberries or peaches. We blend the fruit up along with a splash of coconut water, lime zest/juice, and a little honey to sweeten! Pour them into popsicle molds to freeze. You can also add a little Greek yogurt to make it creamy!
