The Benefits of Clary Sage

So, what is Clary Sage? We use a variety of essential oils in our handmade foot soaks. They all have properties that are very beneficial to your physical wellbeing. They help you drop into a relaxed state during your foot soak service. Here we will highlight one of the most common essential oils we use in our soaks: Clary Sage.

Clary Sage is a quick-growing perennial herb that grows up to six feet in height and is native to the Mediterranean Basin. The plant produces pink, white, blue or purple flowers. You can easily detect clary sage in our soaks by its grassy, herbal, and woody aroma. A common use is for flavoring in tea. It goes by other names such as “clear eye” or “eyebright” because it is said to promote eye health.

Did you know clary sage has been used since the Middle Ages? It is known for its calming properties to both the mind and skin. It contains a chemical component called linalyl acetate which makes it the most relaxing, soothing, and balancing of essential oils. It is a great oil to inhale or diffuse during meditation and allows for a restful night’s sleep if used at bedtime.

Some other benefits include support for hormonal balance, fights bacteria and infections, aids in digestion, promotes circulation, and support for mental health.

Ways to use clary sage:

  1. Diffuse it.
  2. Mix a few drops in a carrier oil (like fractionated coconut oil) and apply to pulse points.
  3. Mix a few drops in a glass spray bottle of water and use as a natural room spray or to freshen fabrics.
  4. Rub on the abdomen to ease menstrual cramps.

Come and experience all that clary sage has to offer, it can be found in our Clay Bath, Meditation and Signature Soothe foot soaks.

Always check with your doctor before using any essential oil in your health regimen.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
