Homemade Foot Soaks

We pride ourselves in the love and care it takes to build our foot soaks. We only use high-quality ingredients and each foot soak is handmade to order as soon as you make the tough decision. Believe us, it can seem to be a life or death decision on some days.

We also pride ourselves on the atmosphere we create in the sanctuary to make it warm, cozy, and serene so you can get your uber-relaxing vibes on. However, we all know the days where you just crave the sanctuary of your own home and would prefer not to venture out. So what is one to do if you are also craving a luxurious, bubbly, warm foot soak but don’t feel like leaving the house?

What if you could make your own foot soak at home? If you have been following us for a while, you know we are all about the self-care. So as much as we love to see your smiling faces as you walk through our doors, we also value and encourage some good old fashion pampering in the quiet and privacy of your own home. A homemade foot soak is just the thing to fulfill that self-care priority. It won’t replace the experience you receive at Wake but a homemade foot soak can be just the thing to soothe the soul (or sole!) after a busy and stressful day. Below we will show you a simple foot soak recipe that you can use anytime for your feet or even for a full body bubble bath!

But first thing is first!

Create the mood and set the scene.

Light a few candles, play your favorite soothing music, gather a few ingredients, and wear that comfy cozy robe and you have all the makings of a foot sanctuary at home. Get ready for zen! The recipe below is one that you can make in your bathtub or foot basin.

Choose your ingredients.

Which ingredients speak to you? The components we use in our soaks are clays, soap, carrier oils, a few essential oils, and other things. You can get as creative as you want with this but If you are starting out, keep it simple. You may already have the ingredients in your house.

DIY Foot Bath

You will need:

  • A few pumps of your favorite liquid soap. We prefer ones that have clean ingredients and no unnecessary sulfates, dyes or perfumes. The more pumps the more suds. Go wild!
  • A few drops of Lavender essential oil, or the essential oil of your choice. Always check with your doctor before adding essential oils into your healthcare routine and always test for skin sensitivity first.
  • A teaspoon of coconut oil
  • A tablespoon of Epsom salts. This is optional and best if you have aches and pains or would like a little detoxifying element in your soak.
  • Rose petals and lavender buds for sprinkling on top of the bubbles. This is also optional.

Method:

Step 1. Fill your basin or tub with a bit of water. Add the rest of the ingredients and use the shower head to create bubbles as you fill up the basin or tub.

Step 2.  Inhale the intoxicating aroma of the essential oil.

Step 3. Sink your feet into the luxurious bubbles.

Step 4. Breathe, relax, reset, enjoy.

We hope that knowing you can create your own foot sanctuary at home will allow you to look forward to adding more pampering into your schedule. This is a chance to explore different ingredients and be creative with your self-care.  Let us know what your favorite make-at-home foot soak is. We would love to hear from you![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
