1. What inspired you to start your company?LEAF +ROOT started itself. Not kidding. I created a simple healing salve and shared with friends and family as a holiday gift. Requests for more salve continued long after the holiday had passed. I felt like there must be a need for a trusted, go to skin healer so I improved my original recipe to be as potent and effective as possible and our Herbal Skin Remedy was born.
My family and I use our Herbal Skin Remedy for ANYTHING & EVERYTHING skin related. Cuts & scrapes, bumps & bruises, rashes, bug bites and as of lately poison ivy and puppy skin issues. We have open jars in almost every room of our house. Herbal Vapor Rub is a year round grab for us. We use it for coughs, colds, congestion and anything respiratory related. We rub down chests, backs and even feet (add warm socks), it is an effective natural decongestant. It is also a great rub for muscle aches, pain and headaches.
LEAF + ROOT aims to provide goods that are organic, effective and affordable to all. We also wish that our line of goods be part of holistic home medicine chests and that our customers feel empowered by participating in their own healing and wellness.
People may not know that I am a stay at home mom with 4 homeschooled kiddos, 24 chickens and one good dog. I see potential in everything and love ideas!
Getting it all done requires a daily rhythm and focus. I like to compartmentalize my time so that I am giving my attention to the tasks at hand versus spreading myself and my thoughts over too many things. I attempt a focus and finish method for my tasks, regardless if I am working on a sink full of dishes or enormous wholesale orders. I allow myself loads of grace and trust that the ebb and flow of life will always bring me back to where I need to be.
