I’m ashamed to admit it had been a good while since I’d enjoyed sinking back into one of our Sanctuary chairs, to lift my feet into a delicious foot soak. A few weeks back, though, it was just the cure for the kind of day I was having. As Jen–one of our lovely Sanctuary team members–rolled out my soak, I noticed the beautiful toppings.
You might be thinking, “Well sure, you are the owner, why wouldn’t you get special soak treatment?” But that’s where you’d be wrong.
Jen and the rest of the team make thousands of soaks a year with care for so many special people who are just coming in and are ready to indulge in a bit of enjoyment, relaxation, and respite from the day.
I never get tired of hearing stories of a shared moment of a surprised guest, a card or letter written to a staff member who made someone feel extra special or just the happiness relayed through a teammate of what serving the guest does for their own soul.
Sitting in the Sanctuary that day as a guest it felt like home. It was so familiar still with the very basic but most important element that we’ve held sacred since we opened six years ago: service to others. It’s my space, it’s your space, it’s our space to get away, relax, and feel the Wake love.
