Chrysopogon zizanioides, Vetiver is a rare essential oil. A perennial grass of the Pocacea family, it is native to India and is commonly called khus.
Vetiver has been used in many cultures throughout history for healing purposes, ceremonies, and more. Among other things, it is used to strengthen red blood cells and promote oxygen throughout the body. It is said to alleviate symptoms of rheumatism, arthritis, and muscular aches. Vetiver is also used as an insect repellant and is helpful to the skin in alleviating the inflammation of acne, healing of cuts, and to reduce oiliness. In Ayurveda the root and essential oil are used for heat stroke, fevers, and headaches.
Vetiver is known as the oil of tranquility. In India, brides are anointed with its oil to bless them before entering marriage.

So much so that we have decided to create a new soak that features vetiver, vanilla, and some other wonderful essential oils. The body oil is available for sale right now. The new soak with vetiver will be put into service in April.
